How to compain about an event

If you feel you need to make a complaint to the London Borough of Lambeth (LBL) please do so by email or letter and send the Friends of Clapham Common a copy of it.
The council operates a three stage complaints process.

In the first instance you may wish to register your concerns, but if these are serious, you should make what is known as a Stage 1 complaint. This will be recorded and requires a written response from the appropriate officer at the Council.  If the response you receive is not adequate (we can help you assess this), you can escalate to a Stage 2 complaint, which will be reviewed by a more senior manager.  If you are still not satisfied, you can make a Stage 3 complaint to the complaint officers at the Chief Executive’s Corporate Complaints Unit (CCU) who must acknowledge your complaint within two working days. The CCU is independent of the service that you have already complained about and will carry out an impartial investigation of your complaint, within 20 working days.

Making a Stage 1 complaint about events on Clapham Common.

A. Complaint about issues other than noise: such as the number and size of events and consequent damage to the common, unsupervised dogs, dangerous trees, worn turf, litter, vehicles, public safety issues, unsightly structures, etc.

B. Complaints about noise on Clapham Common

Wandsworth residents should complain firstly to Lambeth Council, which has legal control of events and noise on the common. The Wandsworth environmental and noise complaint number for Wandsworth residents is 0208 871 7869.
