Friends plant 14 trees

March 26, 2016

Last week, working with Trees for Cities, we planted Italian Alders, flowering cherries, London Planes, oaks, a lime and a weeping willow with the help of local school children. Parkgate, Thomas’s and Macaulay Schools sent a total of 160 children in classes of 20 to hear about the importance of biodiversity and tree planting before helping on site. Adults at the community planting day got fit digging the holes, hammering in stakes setting the trees and putting up protective cages. See the photos selected in our March photo box on the home page!
